Mark Gerard Swan

Mark Gerard Swan, age 68 of Roseville, Michigan, passed away on December 18, 2022.

Mark is survived by his wife of 8 years, JoAnne; his children Emily (Bill) Detrisac, and Daniel (Erinn) Swan; stepdaughter Jennifer Robinson; grandchildren Matthew, Annabelle, and Hannah; siblings Kenneth Swan, Mary (Tony) Perez, John (Donna) Swan, and Kathy (Daniel) Felisiak; and remembered by his large extended family. He is predeceased by his parents Leonard and Geraldine.

Mark was born in Detroit on May 8, 1954, to Leonard and Geraldine Swan. He graduated from Grosse Pointe North High School. Marked worked as a commercial carpenter, installing laboratory cabinets and books shelves in facilities throughout Michigan.  His most memorable job was installing the library at the Mackinac Island Public School.

Mark was a dog lover and enjoyed fishing, camping, and hunting. He was an active member of the Royal Oak Lions Club, serving as the club’s President from 2011 to 2013. In retirement, he enjoyed volunteering for the Leader Dogs for the Blind.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2022, from 5:00pm – 7:00pm with a Memorial Service at 7:00pm. Family and friends are encouraged to wear Hawaiian apparel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Leader Dogs for the Blind in Rochester Michigan or the Royal Oak Lions Club.
