Our beautiful loving Linda Lou Armitage, age 76 of St. Clair Shores, MI and formerly West Bloomfield, MI passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022. She was born to the union of Hazel Irene (Frechette) and Ozro J. Smith. Linda was the youngest of 15 children.

She is survived by her loving daughter Lisa Armitage (Brenda Karakeian) and daughter-in-law, Christy Miller and 3 cherished grandsons, Cole, Chase & Clay. Linda is also survived by her brother Paul, and sisters Carol and Susan, more than 50 nieces and nephews’, childhood friend, Carol Kardos, dear friends and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 38 years, Gordon E. Armitage and adored son Daniel E. Armitage, brothers Doug, Clyde, Daniel, Robert, and sisters Fayetta, Bonnie, Lois Ann, Audrey Lee, Esther, Maureen and Gloria, dear friend Franklin Preston and recent loss of sister – in – law Beverly Smith.

Linda was loved by all and had a giving heart. Holidays, Birthdays, Anniversaries and just because she would delight in creating a handmade gift, baking banana nut, sweet coffee can bread, a dutch chocolate chip cake, an apple pie, and her famous chocolate chip cookies, holiday shortbreads & snowballs. She loved designing garden landscapes and her home was a show stopper adorned of annuals and perennials for every season. Linda was a self-taught artist, photographer and amazed us with her God given talents. She was a picture framer designer and art restorations specialist of over 30 years at The Great Frame Up, Knollwood Art Frames & Gallery and Bruce White Galleries.

Summertime was special at Walnut Lake, swimming & boating with her family and annual vacations to northern Lake Michigan with her extended family. Linda & Gordie enjoyed retirement together with several annual adventures to France & Italy and invited Lisa in 2002 for a treasured experience. Linda also enjoyed visiting her grandsons in South Carolina with a memorable vacation one year with her beloved bull mastiff, Gussie and Lisa & Brenda’s sweet Golden, Louie. In her later years, Linda rescued her beloved Willie, and they were two peas in a pod.

Linda believed in the lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was baptized with her loving family and church friends 7 years ago. We know she has indeed been received into God’s loving arms in heaven.

A memorial service will be held in the spring.
